Update: SCBC in-person meeting

December 22, 2020

Dear Simpson Creek Family,

As we have written on previous occasions in the midst of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to clearly report on what is happening currently with our worship services and activities.

We have maintained our normal Sunday morning schedule, along with Sunday School, study classes, and age-groups.  Fewer in attendance has allowed us to distance from one another and wear masks for the protection of others.  Some classes continue to use Zoom for staying connected.

Recent circumstances have now changed.  A few of our regular attenders have tested positive for the virus and are experiencing symptoms, although none reports having contacted the virus at the church.  Our pastors and Praise Team, as well as some others, have been exposed potentially to the virus and will be tested.

As a result of these important developments, we are temporarily closing the church facilities to in-person attendance out of loving concern for all of our people.  We will continue to livestream an 11:00 a.m. worship service, as well as Sunday evening and Wednesday evening Bible studies.  Some Sunday School classes will continue to meet by Zoom only.  Children and youth will not be meeting in-person; programming for them will be announced.  The Church Office will be open weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

How long will this last?  Our team of pastors and deacons will continue to be in touch regularly, and we will evaluate conditions all through January.  Of course, we want your input, too.  We hope to be meeting together again as soon as it is wise to do so.

Please join us in daily prayer for God’s leading.  “My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).  We believe and obey that!  Feel free to call our pastors for prayer anytime.

Sincerely in Christ,

Your Pastors and Deacons
